Amidst the Woman, Life, Freedom uprising in Iran, a medical resident discovers her voice as the turmoil from the streets reverberates onto her hospital floor. An original documentary short for The New Yorker.
We joined The Smallest Power early in development, partnering closely with the director and The New Yorker team to bring the story to life. From refining the documentary script for animation to securing $85K in additional production funding, our team was hands-on from start to finish. The project was led internally by Neon Zoo director Naghmeh Farzaneh, with a global crew of designers, storyboard artists, animators, and sound collaborators fully integrated across production. The story was a personal one for Farzaneh—after growing up in Tehran, she felt a deep connection to the participant's experience, especially following a powerful conversation they shared during production.
